Stopping 'Word' and 'Excel' from defaulting to "My Documents" folder... (Office 97)

Can anyone tell me if there is a way to stop Word and Excel (in Office
97) from defaulting to the "My Documents" folder when these respective
applications are opened? I never store any of my files in the 'My
Documents' folder! I'll be a happy man if someone can tell me how to
change the default directory!

Thank you,

JD

For Word 97 (I think this is the same as later versions, but I no longer
have it to check), go to Tools > Options > File Locations and modify the
value of the Documents location to whatever folder you prefer. I believe
there's a similar option for Excel 97.

Thanks so much, Bob and Jay! At last I've got it how I want it - I
wish I'd asked here 10 years ago now!
