Storing entry date of task automatically

Hi *,

I'd like to store the entry date of new tasks
automatically in one of the user-defined date fields.
(At first I'd tried to just assign the Date() function to
one of the fields, but that updates every day.)
Is there a way to trigger a function when a new task is
entered?
Any other suggestions?

MSProject does this for you. The Created task field stores date+time task
was added to project.
