straight lines

I cannot remember how to get a 'straight' line from the line control
on a report. Seems to me it was holding the shift key while dragging
the mouse to the length of the line, but that isn't working. Neither
is the ctrl key working with the same procedure. Please remind me how
this is accomplished. The lines in my report look gruesome!!

Setting the Height property of the line to 0 usually works for me.

I'm sure I've had the same problem in the past and if I remember
correctly I found that it worked if I dragged from right to left but
not vice versa. I know it sounds weird but ....

You remember correctly. Select the "line" tools, then press and hold the
Shift key, then draw your line. It will extend in a straight line.
However, trying to "fix" an already crooked line can be very tedious; much
easier to delete it and start over with the above method.
Snap-to-grid is NOT required in either case.
