strange added text

I am having some strange text added to every document I
create. I can take it off, but as soon as I close the
document and reopen it reappears. It almost looks like a
log of everything that has been done to the document even
printing in some cases. This is what appears on one for an
example. Any help would be appreciated. This is making me
crazy.

On Word's File > Open dialog, change the 'Files of Type' selection back to
'Word documents'. From your description you've accidentally changed it to
'recover text from any file'.
