Strange behavior in "view resource assignments"

From the Resources screen, in “view resource assignmentsâ€, I was not able to
see a specific resource’s assignments when I selected the person as the only
resource to display. Once I selected 4 or 5 resources, was I able to see the
intended resources assignments I wanted to see. I was logged on as an admin,
so I have all the proper rights. I had “All assignments†selected on the
left side bar. Is this behavior normal?

Out of curiosity, when you selected the lone resource, exactly WHAT did you
see? An error message? No assignment information? What? More information
would help us to diagnose your problem.

This sounds similar to a problem I posted some time ago and got no resolution
to. When looking for resource assignments the screen returns a single . at
the top left and nothing else. I found the problem started as you described
Joe and got progressively worse until all resources were affected. Very very
frustrating. I have been unable to find a solution.

I select the resource from the “Available resource†list box, and “Add†it
to the “Resource to displayâ€. After clicking the “apply†button, I get what
appears to be a report with no records. In other words I see the menu items
such as “Save Linkâ€, “Link Riskâ€., “Link Issuesâ€, Link Document†across the
top of where the assignments would normally be displayed, but everything
under that is blank with no error message. One would think that there are no
assignments for the resource, but as I indicated before, if I select several
more resources, it will eventually display. I did notice it has nothing to
do with how many other resources, but rather a specific resource that somehow
triggers the list to be displayed. Once I get some assignments displayed, I
can see the original resource I was looking for. In fact, I can then remove
all of the resources I didn’t want to see and have just the one I needed and
the assignments remain displayed for that specific resource only.

I've experienced a very similar problem...

My suggestion is to ensure that the project that the 'single resource'
appears on has been published (Collaborate-Publish-All Information)..Then try
again to view the resource assignments...

It may be that while the resource has allocated tasks on a project - but
that project has not been published to the server...

Joe,

We have experienced a similar issue with 'View Resource Assignments'. We
have found that after the 'View Resource Assignment' page loads without the
Resource data, basically a blank screen with just the 'View Resource
Assignments' controls, if we click the refresh button in IE, then the
resource data which should have returned by clicking on our Saved Link then
displays as expected.
