Strange "black out" issue in Word 2007

I have a user with Word 2007 that is frequently encountering blocks of text
randomly blacked out. Sometimes he is typing, sometimes not even actively
in Word. At random times a portion of the document is blacked out as if he
dragged the cursor over the text however he is not performing this task.

Has anyone else encountered this in 2007 or any other verison of Word?

This user is on Vista Business version.
