strange box in report

I am running a report based off a query that runs two tables. All the infor
is populated correctly except where I have a Notes field, that is formatted
at as memo is populates with 2 small like checkboxes that has garbage that
looks like it a chinese letter, no notes information at all. I looked at the
notes properties and it is showing notes from the table. I am totally
confused. It just started this.
