Strange code appearing in Word v.X documents

I have scanned for virus but none found and have installed all the
secuirty patches from microsoft and apple but get this type of code
appearing in my documents

Eeeewwww.... Those are fragments of virus code you are seeing. That
document is (or was) infected.

Lucky you're on a Mac. Update your AntiVirus scanner and run a full scan of
your computer. It is likely (almost certain!) that there will be more than
one infected file on your computer. If you copy those files to a PC, they
may cause great destruction, so you should try to get them out.

If your virus scanner finds nothing, then chances are someone else's virus
scanner has already found and removed the virus, and all that is left is the
fractured bits of code because it was unable to completely repair the
document.

However, you are not safe until YOUR virus scanner finds nothing When
that happens then you know that everything on your computer is safe
