Strange crop-like marks

Why do I get marks on the edges of my margins that look like the following
in each corner? I'm in page layout view.

any ideas?

They do not show up when I open the file on another computer. It must be
some setting within word. Any help would be appreciated.

Click START | All Programs | Microsoft Office Tools |
Microsoft Office (XP) Language Settings. Disable any East
Asian languages showing in the enabled language window.
