Strange error in EPM 2003

Hi All,

We are using EPM 2003 in our organization. Recently i have encountered a
strange error while adding resources to the project.

Let us say a particular resource is shared across two project A and B and i
am taking the same resource from the enterprise resource pool for both the
projects. I notice that in Project A, his details are absoultely fine but in
project B it shows that he is a duplicate resource.f The error that i am
getting is "The windows user account or user name for the affected user
account conflicts with an existing account on the server (0x8C04000D)". The
user details is fine in one project but is creating problem in the other.

It sounds as though you're not handling the resource correctly and adding it
to one of the projects as a local resource rather than a enterprise
resource. Can you elaborate on the procedure that you're using?

Hi Gary,

The procedure i am following for adding the resource is :

Logon to the project server with Administratior
Open the Project Plan from the server
Go to View - Resource Sheet
Go to Tools - Build Team from Enterprise
Choose the enterprise resource from the list
Click on the Add button to add it to project

The procedure is sound, so you need to look at the problem file. When
applying the resource sheet, does the resource show twice? Another
possibility is corruption.

Hi Gary,

The resource name shows only once. This is happening even to the new
resources that i am adding in EPM.
