I just had a serious system problem and had to reinstall Windows 2000 and MS
Office 2000. After that I am getting strange error messages from Visual
Basic when I open Word and Excel.
When starting and shutting down Word, I get the following message
(translated from Swedish, as I have a Swedish system): "Compile error in
hidden module: AutoExec."
And when I start Excel, it gives me "Compile error in hidden module:
AutoExecNew." But when Excel closes down, another message pops up: "Compile
error in hidden module: DistMon."
Although these messages don't seem (so far) to affect the function of the
programme, they are annoying, and I would really like to get rid of them.
When clicking on Help, I get the following explanation:
"Compile error in hidden module: <module name>
A protected module can't be displayed. This error has the following cause
and solution:
There is a compilation error in the code of the specified module, but it
can't be displayed because the project is protected. Unprotect the project,
and then run the code again to view the error.
For additional information, select the item in question and press F1 (in
Windows) or HELP (on the Macintosh)."
That does not help me much - how do I access a hidden module? Does anybody
know the reason for those error messages?
