Strange Font problem

For years I have been using the Times New Roman Font
without a problem. Today it began to print one size
smaller and much lighter than it used to. I did the MS
troubleshooting and deleted and replaced the font by one
(a true TR font) from the net, but this didn't help. I
installed the latest driver for my Brother 1435 printer,
but that didn't help either. I went into the font folder
and right-clicked on the font and had it print out the
test page. This page printed fine. Does anyone have any
idea what might be wrong? Thanks in advance.

Sorry, I made a mistake on above summary. The test page
had the same problem described (12 size came out as a 10
and lighter than it should be). I'm using word '97 with
xp on a newer computer. Thanks again.
