strange formula result

This is a strange one I have extracted from somrthing else I was doing
can you tell me why the formula result in E3 isnt 0 as in E4.

I have written the formulas I have used below Collumn C and E, al
other numbers are manually entered.

Am I just being stupid?

3 261.9 6 1571.4 1571.4 -2.27374E-13
4 262.0 6 1572.0 1572.0 0

=SUM(A5*B5) =SUM(C5-D5
