Hi NG!

When I connect to Project Server 2003 using Project Professional 2003 (I
have set it to manual) and Windows authentication, I get an empty dialog box
that does not go away and displays no error, as well. I then close it and
reconnect and the connection is done immediately. Any ideas why this occurs?

TIA

Alex

This sometimes occurs on our network as well. We have a Novell / NT
setup. It appears that the authenication sometimes gets hung. I do just
as you say which is to close and try again.

Alex:

There is a known issue with McAffe 8.x that causes this behavior. Is this
possibly your problem?

There are currently two workarounds in place for this issue:

1) Unregister Script Scan's loaded module, ScriptProxy.Dll, will prevent the
failure from occurring. If you installed VirusScan to the default install
path you can run the following from a CMD/Run Prompt:

regsvr32 /u "C:\Program Files\Network Associates\VirusScan\scriptproxy.dll"
This has to be done on each and every desktop that is running Project
Professional 2003.

) Launch Project Professional a second time as this only occurs during the
initial connection.

Hope this makes sense...and helps...
