Good morning -
I am running MS Excel 2003, SP3 for WinXP. I have a workbook that
contains multiple worksheets. One of my worksheets is protected, with
some cells left unlocked to enable users to enter data.
For certain ranges on this worksheet, cells are still editable even
when cell locking is 'on' and the worksheet is protected. Cells
immediately around the subject range with identical formatting and
settings (specifically security / locking settings) behave normally -
i.e., they lock and unlock with the worksheet when worksheet
protection is toggled on and off.
There are no macros impacting these specific ranges, and no other code
that I can identify. There is an add-in that is referenced in the
workbook somehow that I do not have installed - I get a dialog about
how saving without this add-in may cause errors, but I can't find a
reference to the add-in anywhere else. My only evidence of its
existance is in the dialog that pops up on attmepting to close the
workbook.
I suspect the subject ranges were pasted from another file (confirming
with file owner) and/or that there may be some hidden setting in play,
maybe in the 'phantom' add in - I can't think of anything alse. Google
search turned up nada.
Any assistance of insight would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance
for your time.
