Strange Office 2003 VBA Problem

D

David Kirkman

I have Office Pro 2003 installed on Windows XP Pro SP2. When I click on
the Tools-Macro-Visual Basic Editor menu item in Word 2003 Word
immediately suts down. The same thing happens in Excel and in Access
when I try to create a code module.

I have tried adding Service Pack 2 and reinstalling Office 2003 but the
problem remains. I have tried all Macro security levels including low.
I have run a virus scan and several spyware scans with different
products and found nothing.

I am now completely at a loss as to what to do. Any help would be very
much appreciated.

Not sure if my issue is related to this or not:
I get a "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library" error if I try to go into the
VBA code editor of a form. The error text says, " This application has
requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the
application's support team for more information". Clicking OK closes all of
Access. I have tracked the error to happen only in certain cirumstances. For
example, if I open the form in design mode, then click the Code button, I get
the error. But, if I first make a change to the form, such as re-positioning
a control, THEN click the code button, I DON'T get the error. Or, if I am
designing a module directly, then open a form in design mode, I get the error.

VERY annoying. I tried repairing my Office 2003 installation but it didn't
help. Did you ever come up with a solution to yours?

Thanks

Todd C
