strange order of LINEST results

Excel LINEST returns the list of regression coefficients in the
REVERSE order of the columns of independent variables. Why on earth
did Microsoft do this? Is there a way to order the regression
coefficients consistently with the columns of data?

You could use a series of formulas such as =INDEX(LINEST(..........),n)
where "n" is the position in the normal LINEST sequence).
