strange pps 97 download

My first post and forgive me if I'm in the wrong place.

I have used a website for course materials for several years.
I have two powerpoint 97 slide shows linked on the web site.
In the past, I had no problem quickly opening these, even over a
landline.
This week, while updating for the coming semester, all of a sudden they
are
not opening. I have tried Firefox, IE, and Netscape.

They only open in Netscape, BUT all I view is code.
I thought that the problem was my home system,
so tried from work with same result.
Then I thought had a corrupted file, but both pps are doing it.

I am a bit frantic as school resumes next week.
I'm even attaching site link should anyone want to see what I'm talking
about.
Follow READ 116 link > DATABASE EXERCISE > VIEW ENTIRE SLIDE SHOW.

I don't see "view entire slide show"

if I view the

1. Click here to open search directions. Read from screen or print out.

then I get something from "ms word" about viruses and the like

Whoops!
Since posting last night, I have changed that link to accommodate an
alternative plan.
The problem that I described in original post can still be viewed at
above
link,then click READ 117 > DATABASE EXERCISE.
