I just saw something in Word 2004 (with all updates, run on a PMG5/
dual 2.0, revA, with 2 GB memory, running OSX.4.10, with all updates)
that I have never seen before. I have a 6.8 Meg document in that I use
as a lab notebook to keep track of the experiments, etc. that I am
doing. Since this file also contains results, it contains a number of
graphics, including jpeg files and pasted tables and graphs from
Excel. Today, I wanted to print a selection from this document, which
contains a Word generated table, and some text with 2 small graphics.
I selected print from the menu, and then selected "print selection"
from the print dialog box, which usually works when I want to do
this sort of thing. Instead, what I saw this time was a dialog box
saying "The document is too large for word to handle", with only an
"OK" button. When I clicked on this button, Word froze (giving me the
"beachball of death"), and started to use a large amount of system
resources. My only way out of this was to force quit. I tried this
multiple times, with the same result. Thinking there may have been
something funny in the file, I copied everything to a new file, tried
the same thing, and got the same result. Finally, I was able to copy
the table and text to another file, and I could print that. Can anyone
tell me what is going on? This is a problem I have never seen before.
Thanks in advance,
