Strange request

We recently had a family reunion, and one member of the family put
together a very nice slideshow of family pictures, accompanied by music,
using PowerPoint. Many members of the family would like to have this
slideshow, but not all of them own PowerPoint. Is there a way to export
each slide from the show and make a free-standing slideshow (perhaps
using iDVD or something similar)? It would be nice to include the music,
but the photos are the most important part.

Thanks for any ideas. :)

You can save the presentation as a QuickTime movie directly from within
PowerPoint:

Convert presentations to VHS or DVD video
http://www.pptfaq.com/FAQ00156.htm

Convert presentations into Movie files
http://www.pptfaq.com/FAQ00057.htm

Or if you'd rather start with images of the slides and create your own movie,
you can open the presentation, choose File, Save As and pick an image type
rather than Presentation to save to. You'll get the option of saving just the
current slide or all slides in the presentation.

Thanks so much for this information, Steve! I'm going to send it to my
