Strangeness

D

David Donnenfield

Hi,
I'm working in tables, just a simple two cell (side by side) format. On
about page four in the document, the cell runs off the page, like a bleed.
It doesn't wrap to the next page, and instead loses part or all of a cell
before picking up somewhere mid-cell with the text.

I also have some page break lines that extend to the right outside of the
document. And, there are some bold cell lines that sometimes have some
little cross in a box associated with them. If I move the cursor over it, a
hand appears, but I can't really move or manipulate the cell. When I do
start messing with the formatting to try and recover a missing cell or
spread them on to a new page, I have gotten crashes. I had hoped that
Service Pack 2 might fix the problem, but nope.

Any suggestions?
David

Hi David:

The "strangeness" you report is clearly diagnostic of a "corrupt table".

The fix is to select the whole table, then

1) use Table>Convert>Table to Text.

2) Without moving the selection, use Table>Convert>Text to Table.

This will rebuild the internal code that forms the table and fix the problem
for you.

The bad cell will probably go peculiar, but once the table structure is
fixed, you will be able to repair that easily.

Hope this helps
