Streaming audio

Hi all...

Wondering what is the best format for streaming audio. My
webhost is moving away from the Real Server (too expensive
according to them). That leaves me with either Windows
media format, or MP3.

Can you stream MP3 files, or do they have to be saved to a
users hard drive before listening to them. (or can a link
be right-clicked on to bring up the "save file as" option,
if they want to d/l it?)

Thanks!

MP3 is not a streaming format. It is possible to download MP3 files
as you describe or simply clicking it. In the latter case they may
cause a download prompt or be downloaded to temporary internet files
depending on the browser settings.
