Streaming video and audio on website

I have a realplayer type streaming audio setup on my website at present and
I know from some people I talk to that they don't hear the audio.
Perhaps this is because they don't have Real Player on their machines, or at
least I suspect as much.
I'm very shortly going to incorporate streaming video of catwalk footage for
our mother of the bride collection and wonder where do I go.
I suspect that the Real option will provide the same sort of problem to non
Real users.
Is there another format I can use?
I would expect the majority of computers to have Windows Media Player
installed by default so is there a way to use this instead as a built in
player.
As lots of email enquiries I get are from ladies using their works computer,
especially in the NHS and Local Government offices (why do we pay these
people so much.....) they obviously can't go installing new software.
Hope there's an answer somewhere in the minds of all the brilliant newsfeed
watchers.
oh, the website address, if you care to assess the current setup is
www.thebridesmother.co.uk

Get the Windows Media Add-in from link below and install it.
http://www.microsoft.com/frontpage/downloads/addin/searchdetail.asp?a=50

User Instructions
Open a Web in FrontPage. Embed the Windows Media Player by selecting
"Insert / Windows Media Player". At this point the Windows Media Player
Add-In Wizard is opened:
1) Select Audio or Video content.
2) Browse for the content you wish to embed. You may add multiple audio
and video files and use the wizard to determine what order you want them to
play in.
3) Select the controls you wish to appear in the Web page (no controls,
status bar, full controls). These controls will enable the user to start and
stop the playback of the media.
4) Select the playback options, such as the number of times you wish the
media file to play, whether the file should start automatically etc.
5) Hit Finish and the Add-In does the rest behind the scenes. You can now
preview the embedded Windows Media content in FrontPage.

Got the programme as you mentioned although had to go for the newer Media
Player plug in though as version 4 couldn't find the Frantpage programme to
install itself into.
I've tinkered around with it and although I can now incorporate video onto
my site I can't really get it doing what I want.
What I'm trying to achieve is to have the video play in the space taken by a
picture when the picture is clicked. If you take a look at the top right of
the webpage www.thebridesmother.co.uk you can see a lady in a black outfit.
What I want is that when the picture is clicked, the video starts playing in
this space.
I can neither resize the media player or control where it gets opened.
Maybe I'm being too fussy.
I've tried hyperlinking to an actual video file but this doesn't get the
required result either.
Hope you are able to make sense of this and to make a suitable suggestion
(except handing the project over to a paid professional of course)
Thanks so far.
