Stretching an object - railroad track

Can anyone offer any suggestions for building a Visio object that I can
lengthen or shorten (and bend as a spline) that will add or remove pieces as
it gets longer or shorter? Specifically, I'm talking about a piece of
railroad track. The spacing between rails (gague) is fixed (for a given
scale) but as I lengthen the piece of track I want to keep the spacing
between ties constant; additional ties would appear as the piece is
lengthened or ties would disappear as the piece is shortened. And I'd like
to be able to do this on both straight track (it doesn't bend) as well as a
flexible track based on Visio's sdjustable curves (spline).

If anyone can offer suggestions or samples it would be appreciated.

Do a search on "Visio custom line patterns" for an explanation of how to do
this.

Thank you, Jonathan. I assume you mean search Visio help, not the
newsgroups. That sounds like a pretty good topic!

I actually meant a web search, although you can get some information on
custom line patterns from the Visio help files.

I've actually done several things. custom line patterns is mentioned in
Visio help. I also searched the newsgroups and found some other mentions.
I'v not done a full Web search as I'm still dealing with the results of the
other two! I've tried making a custom line but as of yet have not been able
to get fully throuogh the process, probably 'cause I'm doing something dumb!
But it certainly appears that this method will do the trick!
