Strike Through Text?

P

Is it possible apply strike through as a text format? I'm replying to an email where I need to strike out some text, but I can't do it. I've tried to copy the text I need to strike out into Word, strike it out there and paste it back into my email, but that simply ruins the format of the email. Any suggestions?

Entourage does not do strike-through. There's really no way to do it
WITHIN Entourage. Your attempt to use Word is a step in the right
direction, though. After copying to Word and applying the
strike-through, instead of copying and pasting back into Entourage, go
to Word's File menu and select "Send To" Mail Recipient as HTML.

This will create a new message in Entourage. You will have to manually
address it to the original sender, as this is not a reply, but a new
message. But it will retain the strike-through this way.

only way you will do this is to create your reply as a word document, then IN
WORD select "Send to > Mail recipient (as HTML)" from the file menu. The
message will then be moved into Entourage for sending, but will not be
editable in Entourage

Why not just send the Word doc as an attachment where it can be used?

Using Word to edit the document is not an acceptable solution. First, the HTML email generated by Word is 14 times larger than the original file that I am trying to modify (I would hate to see what it would do with one of our larger files, it would potentially choke the email system). Second, when I reply back to the email, it loses the strike through formatting. Sending a Word file around as part of this process doesn't solve the problem either, there are people involved in the process that do not have Word on their machines.

'as html' will allow the content to be read n an email body, and by most
email clients.

if you send 'as attachment' the text is not available for reading within he
client and the recipient is forced to open the doc in word (or an equivalent
wp application)

Also, some mail clients consider word documents 'dangerous attachments' <g>

in that case yo will have to wait for Entourage to be updated with a more
capable HTML editing engine.

Please use the 'send feedback' link n the Help menu to make sure MS know you
wan this feature - the more people that ask for it, the more likely it is to
be implemented.
