Stripping out text boxes

I have created large documents with dozens of text boxes, but the publisher wants the text boxes eliminated because the text can only be copied from them one at a time. How can I strip out the text boxes while leaving the contents intact and inline? I have even tried going via pdf ... but even Acrobat is not playing nice.

What do you mean by "intact and inline"?If you're hoping to retain the same
layout of the document but just no longer have the text in text boxes I
don't think that's going to happen. A Word document is a linear flow of text
from start to finish. Graphic objects - such as text boxes - are anchored to
the main text body in some way. You can't keep their content isolated or
"containerized" if you remove the containers.

In general, the text boxes must first be converted to Frames, then either
the Frames need to be removed or the file needs to be saved in a format that
doesn't support Frames (such as .txt)

There may be some options that will minimize your task but based on your
limited description there still will be a lot of work to do. Before any
responsible suggestions can be offered, though, you'll need to provide a
much more detailed & accurate description of how the file has been put
together [text wrapping used, did you use Styles to format, etc.} as well as
exactly what you're hoping for as the result.
