Structured outlines in PPT2007?

Apologies if this has been discussed before. It's about finding a way to
add more structure a PPT presentation. The specific context is a big
course consisting of a bunch of PPT (2007) slides. There are parts of
the course that may or may not be given every time. So in a way, one
could think of it as one main stream, with "side alleys" that one may or
may not go into depending on the situation. That would give the course a
kind of tree structure with a main trunk and possible branching.

In a Word document you would think of a structured outline. In PPT,
though, it seems that things are pretty flat from that point of view.
One could work with hyperlinks to other files, I suppose. I was
wondering if others had confronted similar issues and found novel solutions.

Thanks for any insights.

You can do this using Custom Shows. Set up a separate Custom Show for
each 'section', and for each hyperlink to a custom show, make sure it
is set to 'Show and Return'. When that section is finished it will
return to the slide you linked from.

That's great - knew nothing about that feature. Thanks!
