STS Installation Error - Help Please!!!

I'm new to STS and am trying to install it on a W2K SP3
server. When I run the Sharepoint Configuration Wizard,
I receive the following error:

"Microsoft Project Server: SharePoint Configuration
Wizard Setup error: SharePoint has not been configured
proberly for Project Server for unknown resons. Setup
will restore SharePoint to its original state. You can
also run the setup program again to configure the
existing SharePoint Server."

I did some research on Technet and found article 818844,
and it offers 4 possible causes for the error and
solutions. I've tried all 4 and still receive the error.

I'm trying to install STS and Project Server 2002 on the
same server, with SQL on another server. I planned on
using the following installation order based on my
readings:

1. SQL Analysis Services (due to error detailed in
technet article 324833)
2. Sharepoint Team Services
3. Project Server 2002
4. Delete MS_ProjSrv_PublicDocuments from IIS
5. Install STS Service Packs
6. STSWIZ.EXE
7. ProxyCFG.EXE
8. PSComPlus.EXE

Can anyone tell me if I'm missing anything that would
cause the error detailed above? I can get Project Server
installed and running, but my manager WANTS STS running
with it. I'm running out of hair to pull out.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello,

You can install SharePoint Team Services on a Windows Server 2003 box.
However, there are a few more KB articles to read and a patch to install :)
