STS not functioning

After creating a project I click on Issues, or Documents
and receiving the following message can anyone tell me
what this means?

Microsoft Project Web Access Documents and Issues are
based on SharePoint Team Services from Microsoft.

A SharePoint Team Services subweb needs to be created for
your project before you can share project documents or
track project issues. Subweb creation takes a few
minutes, so if the project was just published, wait a few
minutes and then visit the page again. Otherwise, please
contact your system administrator.

I have checked and it is set to automaticlly create a
subweb but doesn't. I can go into STS and create a subweb
but it is not linked to the project I published.

Any help would be appreciated!

Hi Andy,

It sounds like STS is not configured properly on the server or it is not set
up in PWA. Before we go and try to debug the server, let's see if it is
your PWA settings.

1) Login to PWA as an administrator.
2) Go to Admin->Manage SharePoint Team Services->Connect to Servers.
3) Is there a server listed? If not, you will need to click "Add Server"
and your problems should go away. If not, continue on...
4) Select the SharePoint Server and click "Modify Server".
5) Verify that all the information is correct and make adjustments where
necessary. Also, read the "Important!" message at the bottom of the screen.
If you see any warnings or errors, you will need to run PSCOMPLUS.EXE on the
server first, then come back to this screen.
6) When all settings are finished, click the "Save" button. If
ProjectServer can connect to STS without any problems, new subwebs should be
created when new projects are created.
7) Test that the settings work by going to Admin->Manage SharePoint Team
Services->Manage Subwebs. Try creating a subweb for a project that does not
have one.

Hi Bill,
-----Original Message-----
Hi Andy,

I can get all the way to step 5 in your list and then I
recieve errors. I click the modify button and check
everything which looks fine. When I click save I get a
message that says.
Microsoft Project Server cannot connect to the specified
Web Server running SharePoint Team Services.

The reasons could be:
1.Sharepoint Team Services is not installed on
http://servername:80
2. domain\id is not in the NT Admin group on ServerName
3. If the local area network had proxy servers the proxy
servers are not specified in the Lan settings for IE
4. The server URL Http://servername:80 is not correct or
the server cannot be accessed at the time.
5. The Sharepoint administration port 3800 is not correct.

I can type in http://servername:80 or 3800 and it will
open the web pages. I double checked and the domain id I
am using is a member of the admin group on the server. We
do not use proxy servers for Internet access.

I am at a lose and any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Andy:

It sounds as though you haven't run proxycfg.exe

You must run this using a command similar to:

proxycfg -d -p "fakeproxy" "<local>"

Type this including the quotes. If this is the issue, everything should
start working.
