Stuck emails in Oubox

I'm running Outlook 2007. When I select cpntacts from my address book where
the address comes up in the 'To' box with the 'Display' name as well as the
'email address' e.g. Dave([email protected]) i find the email doesn't
go. However if I just use '(e-mail address removed)' it does go. Can anyone
help?

The "Display As" really doesn't mean anything. Double-click the first
display. What do you see in the dialogue box that opens?
