Stuck in Outbox after ItemSend

I wrote an event handler Application_ItemSend to modify the item's BCC field,
and now my sent items are not moving from the Outbox to the Sent folder once
they are sent successfully. The items themselves are sending fine. How I can
make these messages move correctly from Outbox to Sent?
