Stuck on "Project Server Security Logon"

I have created an account with a Project Server authenticated ID. I have
unfortunately set it up as Default connection and Automatically detect
connection state. When I try to start Pro, the Project Server Security Logon
screen pops up, the cursor goes to an hourglass, and it stalls. When I use
task manager to end it, I am told that it is waiting for a response from me,
but I can find nothing requesting a response.

1. Can anyone tell me how to get the Automatically detect turned off, since
I cannot get to the Account window?

2. Does anyone have any idea why I am getting stuck on that screen. I have
tried forcing a cached password reset, but that doesn't seem to make any
difference.

Are you using McAfee Anti Virus?

T oturn off Automatically detect go to Start > Program > Microsoft Office >
Microsoft Office Tools > Microsoft Office Project Server Accounts.

At the bottom select Manual State option & Click ok

See if that account is ACTIVE on server & has correct information.

Thanks. The problem was that it would not start, so I could not get to the
menu.

I found it.

The account information is written to the registry.

HKEY_Currentuser - Software - Microsoft - Office - MS Project - Profiles

Find the offending key, which will be the account description.

For the Default, change the data value from Yes to No. It will then go back
to My Computer, and you will have control again.
