Student edition: Can I copy media

I have installed teh Student edition on my home PC and on my college
student's laptop. Should she have an Office problem or a pc problem while
away at school, she may need the media in order to re-install or detect and
repair.
How do i copy the cd for her so that she will ahve the media available.
Also, if I buy a new PC for home use, how do I demonstrate that the first
install is no longer in use so that I can make use of the 3 user license if
needed?

Make a new folder in your Documents folder.
Insert the DVD, open in Windows Explorer and make sure all hidden files are
seen. Then copy the ENTIRE DVD to the new folder.
Then you can burn a new copy.
And yes you are allowed to make a copy for backup purposes.

You state that currently it is only installed on TWO machines. You are able
to install H & S on THREE machines concurrently, and you can uninstall and
re-install as many times as you like on any of those THREE machines. What
you are NOT allowed to do is to install on a FOURTH machine..

Download and install this free program:
http://www.imgburn.com/

After you install it, place the Office DVD in your drive. Open imgburn and
select "create image file from disk" and save it to your desktop. It'll be
an .iso file. Remove the Office DVD from the drive and replace it with a
blank DVD. Double click the .iso file and imgburn should open and burn the
file to the disk. Now you have an exact duplicate.

You demonstrate by telling Microsoft what you did. If the internet
activation does not work, you will be provided with a telephone number to
call. Microsoft will accept your word that you have remained within three
functional installations by uninstalling from an old computer and installing
on a new computer.
