Somewhere I read that Office 2003 Student and Teacher
Edition oculd be run on two PCs legally. Now I can't
find it. Situation is one daughter leaving for college,
another daughter at home in High School. Can both use
the same copy of Office 2003 or do we need to buy a 2nd
copy?

You can not legally install Office on two different PCs.

Microsoft, does, however, recognize that one user can not use Office on a PC
and a on laptop simultaneously, so: One user may have concurrent
installations of Office on one PC and on one laptop.

Since High School daughter is not the same user as College daughter,
according to the EULA, you will need to purchase a second copy of Office.

Hope this helps,

Actually! Office 2003 S&T version should have come with 3
product keys inside your package. These keys will allow
you to load them on up to 3 computer. If you have any
questions contact Microsoft Customer Service at 800-936-
5700. Office XP S&T according to the EULA is restricted
to only one computer.

Your daughter in college may not qualify under the reside in one household
terms of the Students and Teachers edition. Also, the Students and Teachers
edition contains the application in Office 2003 Standard. Your college
daughter may have need for an application not included in the Standard
Edition.

Your college daughter may want to check with her school {likely the
bookstore} for an academic license. Academic license an lower cost licenses
available for Office 2003 Editions other than the Standard one.
