I recently went to an estate sale and purchased some PC software. I'm
planning on building a PC and wanted to know it these packages can be
loaded. All disked are labeled, "Student Media" and " Microsoft
Licensing" All with pink colors. The programs are:

MS Office Project Pro (2003) Service Pack 1 End Item Part No.
H30-01201

MS Windows XP Pro Service Pack 2 End Item Part No.
E85-03210 (Mfg. Ref: AVTO)

MS Office Pro End Item
Part No. 269-08393

MS Office Pro Enterprise Edition 2003 End Item Part No.
269-08393

On the back of each sleeve are the following "Media Set" labels:
X10-99861, X10-92450, X11-25987and X11-15088

Thanks for any info you can provice. Also, the Product Keys are
provided with Office Pro and XP Pro.

Interesting. The "Student Media" label implies the software was purchased by
a student at a discount (a very nice discount too) from his/her school.
Hopefully, a EULA expert will post something in response but I'm thinking
that you would not be able to technically/legally use that software since
you were not the original purchaser (nor should it have been for sale).

I'm quite sure the software will load and activate without a
problem...unless the software is loaded on another PC, of course....then you
will get the "...this key is already is use..." error message when
activating.

The legality is something I would be concerned about.

To me these CDs look dodgy. Are there any serial/key numbers with these
CDs? Why would a student need MS Office Pro Enterprise Edition 2003? I
don't remember MS ever releasing a student product with this name!

You Will need serial/key numbers to install them on your system. YOU
HAVE BEEN WARNED!

I would suspect that they are academic editions which are usually not
supposed to be resold. They'll probably install OK but may fail
activation. The Windows Genuine Advantage check that comes with Update
may also point out that these are not exactly legal.
