Student & Teacher Edition 2003

I have an XP operating system using the Student Teacher Editon 2003 and my
classmate mostly have Vista. We have class project that we are all working on
together and i can't open ther powerpoint slides to do my share of the
project. My question is How can I view and do my share of the project can I
just purchase 2007 office or as I have been told I will have to get a new
computer with vista. Can I also just upgrade my XP to Vista on my computer.
