Stupid registration question

When I initially installed Office 2004 on my Mac, I made a typo in my
address, spelling "University" as "Universwity". Now on the "About
PowerPoint" kinds of screens, I see this, and presumably, this is in
MS's records as well. How do I correct this?

Try Preferences, User Information.

And don't worry about MS's records - the only thing that registration
does is give marketing your data, and allow you to sign up for an
e-newsletter.

I don't see a Preferences/User Information on my system. I can fix the
information on individual documents, but not globally in Office or any
of its apps. This release of Office was a CDROM distribution at
faculty pricing from the campus computer store. I wonder if it is some
kind of restricted version that doesn't have all of the preference
options available...

No, academic discount versions have all the same features.

Preferences is under the application menu--I thought User Information was in
all the products, but apparently it's only in Word, the others just have
user name somewhere in a panel, or in Entourage it's the Me contact. Except
that this won't fix your problem with the About... Info anyhow.

What do you mean by fix the information on individual documents? Where is
Uniwersity showing up in individual documents?

Anybody, does resetting the serial number (PID-dealio) let you reset the
About... name?

Hi ,
To change your information in the about dialog you will have to reinstall
office
Try the following :
1. goto User\library\ Preferences\Microsoft and delete Microsoft Office
settings(11) file
2. goto applications and delete Microsoft office folder and reinstall
On reinstalling office you will get to enter your name , company name ,
Product ID again .
Thanks,
Priyanka
