Stuttering Transitions

When I went to the new power point - 2007, I found that presentations that
had worked fine now had problems, specifically ... I use faded zoom quite a
bit. With 2007, I had to change the speed to very fast to stop long delays,
further, when the initial words or letters appear they "stutter." They come
onto the screen in a jerky fashion ...

I believe the powerpoing 2007 uses a different 'drawing engine' for want of
a better word. It's more taxing on your computer, hence the stuttering.

A few people have reported this and someone suggested it is if you use a 'by
letter' animation anywhere on the slide. Try removing any 'by letter'
animations and see if it improves. It may also be worth playing with the
hardware acceleration:

That was probably me! We had a client who used many after previous faded
zoom by letter animations and we saw the stutter you mention. I reported it
to Microsoft but I don't think it's fixed yet. Telling the client it looked
horrible didn't work at all either!

A workaround that worked in our case but might not always, was to set the
FIRSTline to "With Previous" and give it about a 1 to 2 second delay. This
seems to give PPT time to sort things out (tech description)
