Style and spelling dictionary language correlation (Word 2007)

A

abc

Hi All,

Can I define a style that uses a specific language for spell checking?

I tried to do that with Quick Styles (I wrote a paragraph using desired
font, font size and dictionary options (I selected the language and
checked box for spelling check)) but it does not keep the spelling
dictionary I want to use.

Is there a way to do that?

Thanks!

yes: language is a character property, and paragraph styles also contain
such properties. In the absence of a character style or direct character
formatting, the paragraph style's character properties should work.
[Whew, that sounds more complicated than it should!]

Forget Quick Styles for a moment: select a whole paragraph and set the
language you want. Then use the dialog launcher in the Ribbon Start |
Styles to launch the Styles TaskPane. While the paragraph is still
selected, click on the bottom left button (New Style). Name it, and
there you go.
