Style behavior on assembly

I have a question about possible scenarios for controlling the application
of styles when you combine one or more documents together.

For example, assume I have one document with Body Text set to a Verdana font
and a second document with Body Text set to use a Times Roman font. In my
tests it seems that the settings for the first document I add to a new
document apply to subsequent docs.

I was wonder if there was any way to control this. To specify, for example,
that no matter what, any inserted file would use the style definitions of
the underlying template.

TIA.

Actually insert some text using your styles in your document before you
insert or copy from another document. That will show the styles as being in
use and will make the definitions in your template govern. Otherwise, after
you have finished inserting all of your text use Tools => Templates and
Add-Ins... to reattach your template and check the box to update styles.
(After you have done this and closed the dialog box, repopen it and uncheck
that box.)
