Style changes

I am using Office Word 2002 on a PC and Office 2001 on a Mac

I am accustomed to the Mac version where I can change a style (other than
Normal) by making the change in one paragraph and, if I like it, simply
clicking in the Formatting Toolbar Style box and pressing the Enter key
twice (first to open the Modify style box and second to confirm the change).
What could be more simple?

Pity 2002 seems not to have that time saving facility - or have I missed a
preference setting somewhere?

Word 2002 DOES have the facility: It's called "Prompt to update style" and
should be on Tools>Options>Edit. It's off by default, you need to turn it
on.

If you do, make sure you don't get caught by documents where "Automatically
Update Style" has been left turned on: you will suddenly get for small style
change flowing through the entire document, which most would regard as too
much of a good thing :)

Cheers
