Style is Misbehaving

Greetings,

I created a Table Text style that uses a Regular font,
and it has been working just fine.

Suddenly -- and mysteriously to me -- when I apply
this style it is now giving me a Bold font.

I have checked -- and re-checked -- my style, and
the formatting clearly indicates that Regular font
should be applied.

Any assistance would be most appreciated.

Hi Shauna,

Thanks for your reply. As it turns out, my table text style is based on
Normal, which is not bold.

I did also try ctrl-q, ctrl-spacebar and that did not have any effect --
except where I had manually changed the bold text to normal, in which case
it changed it back to bold.

I'm completely stumped!

By the way, the info on your web site is really excellent -- thanks!

Hi Ed

Is it possible that the style on which your table text style is based is
now bold? Styles inherit from their parents. So if it's
parent is now bold, table text will now be bold. If so, modify your style to be un-bold.

Alternatively, is it possible that direct formatting has been applied to
this text? To test, select a paragraph and do ctrl-q,

what is "What's this" under "Help" showing you exactly?

If your text, after CTRL Q/CTRL Space is still bold, and bold is not
listed in the style itself nor in Normal, then there might be something
wrong with either your font; or your video driver. Is the font bold in
Print Preview and on paper, too ...? Is the font indicated in the style
acutally present on your system ...?
