Although the language of my computer is set to English UK, the language of
all of the inbuilt styles in Word 2007 is English USA, which means my UK
spellchecker and autocorrect options don't work when using these styles. Is
there any way I can set them all to UK English instead of doing it on a case
by case basis? I would have thought setting the computer language to UK
English would have taken care of it, but it hasn't

You need to set the default language of Word to English (U.K.) as well. In
Word 2007, find this setting at Review | Proofing | Set Language. Choose
English (U.K) and then click Default...

In that case, click the arrow at the bottom of the Styles group on the Home
tab to open the Styles window. Click on the Manage Styles button. In the
Manage Styles dialog, on the Edit tab, select the Normal style, click
Modify..., and change the language of the style. Make sure you select the
radio button for "New documents based on this template."
