Is it posibble to lock the style in word once you have
created your own styles to a template without locking the
entire document?

password protect the template, *.dot file. This enables
all the styles attached to the document, but keeps the
template away from meddeling and muckery.

.....also, if a user has mucked up the styles in a document
with your template applyed, simply reapply your template
to the document.
