Styles available in textbox within Microsoft Word Picture

M

Mister.Fred.Ma

Hello,

I've got several Microsoft Word Pictures (MSWPs), within each of which
I've placed a text box. The styles (in particular, the Paragraph
styles) available are not the same lengthy list as I see when I'm in
the main document (outside of the MSWP). Are the style sets separate
and distinct?

If I modify the line spacing with the Normal style in one text box
within its MSWP, it doesn't seem to affect the Normal style in the
main document, nor does it seem to affect the Normal style in another
text box in a separate MSWP. However, I'm hesitant to conclude that
they are separate and distinct because, in my experience, Word
sometimes updates things across the document at a time of its own
choosing. I'd prefer to find out if the style sets are *suppose* to
be different and distinct, and take the proper precautions. Thanks if
anyone can share their knowledge on this.

A Baffled User

I'm not sure this is an answer to your question, but the following exchange
I had on microsoft.public.word may help. My original question comes second
(please see also my comment at the end of this message). What I found when I
went into the macro organizer was that you have to compare the format
specifics for the various Styles (Header, Body text, etc.) in the two
scroll-down menus and the choose the one you prefer for transfer to the
other list. You'll see what I mean when you enter the organizer. Good luck.
I'm trying to work with Styles for the first time on a very long document
and am having a rough go.

Dear Joan,

Please try the following:

Tools--macros--macros--organizer
Click on "Styles" tab
