Styles

I have document template which everyone in the dept. are
going to use it. The template is readonly so everyone will
be able to use as a new document. My question is I have
certain number of styles in my document/template and I
don't want people to use other style then the one in the
template. But, everytime they copy-paste it from different
file/s new(not required) styles are created. Any way to
block it or any coding(button) to find non standard style.

The template is created in word 2000

Thanks for your help.

This can't be done in Word 2000. In Word 2003 you have the ability to
specify a certain set of styles which is the only styles which can be used
in a document.

The best you can do in word 2000 is to encourage people to use your styles.
this article suggests a method

Creating Custom Toolbars for Templates

In addition, you could write a macro which goes through a document and
detects what styles are in use, and highlights the presence of unauthorised
styles in a document.
