Sub Document in HTML

I want to create a document template that includes an HTML page
created in RoboHelp. I'm looking to have this as a dynamic page, so
that as the HTML page changes, the word template doesn't need to.

Sub Documents seem to offer this type of service, however they want
the Sub Document to be saved into Word Format, but this does not work
with the RoboHelp system as it messes up all the formatting (and
bullet points become detailed as some apersand number or other). It
therefore needs to be able to pick up HTML format at the time of
creation.

Any suggestions please.

Thanks

Jeremy

First, for reasons explained in depth at links given below, you do not want
to use the Master Document - Sub Document "feature." Try Insert File as a
link (one of the options).

"Master Document" is a term of art in Word referring to a "feature" that not
only doesn't work but also destroys documents. The consensus (with the
limited exception of Steve Hudson) among those offering advice on these
newsgroups is that using the Master Document feature is a sure way to
destroy your document. It can destroy parts of your document that you are
not even working on! I think John McGhie said it succinctly when he said
that there are two kinds of Master Documents: Those that are corrupt and
those that will be corrupt soon. See <URL:
http://www.addbalance.com/word/masterdocuments.htm> for information on the
Master Document feature and workarounds. (This page also has a link to Steve
Hudson's chapter on how he gets Master Documents to work.) See <URL:

information on what goes wrong, and <URL:

how to salvage what you can.
