Sub-pages

upgraded my computer and imported OneNote files. they all came in ok BUT no
headings for any Sub-pages (pages etc, all ok) - advice please

What happens when you navigate to one of these subpages and then navigate
out? Does the text appear on the tab?

Do the subpages in question have any text content? In 2007, subpages get
their own title field, and that may not have been read yet by the program.
Remember in 2003, subpages get their titles from the first line of text.
When you upgrade to 2007, the first line of text is no longer the "title"
of the subpage.

Yes, I've navigated in and out etc and typed new headings for subpages etc
but no headings are showing anytime and yes, they all have content.
Additional question - I'm using 2003 and what would be very helpful is the
ability to "hide" subpages and then bring them up by say clicking on
appropriate page - does 2007 do this or are there any plans to include such a
feature later - I also endorse others who would like "replace" function - so
would I thanks

Aloha waldorfedu,

2007 does not let you hide subpages but it's a popular feature request that
may appear in a future version.

As for your titles, maybe your title tab is too narrow -- what if you grab
the right edge of the note page and drag it slightly left (widening the tab
area)? Do your subpage titles appear then?

The tab for the subpage is there - it just does not contain the title. i've
tried many things including creating new subpages but whatever i try the
subpages are there but no headings - hope that clarifies problem

I know it's there, I'm just suggesting that maybe it's too narrow for the
title to display. Try dragging it wider and see if the title suddenly appears.

Thanks for your prompt reply. i am not sure i understand you. the page tab
shows appropriate heading but not the subpage alhtough it does in "old"
computer". the tab of the subpage cannot be widened -isn't it fixed just like
the page tab etc. if you want me to do anything else please elaborate - thanks

it is a purchased Academic 2003 Edition and it worked fine on my "old"
computer for two years

Ah, 2003. In 2003 the subpages don't have any titles on the tabs until
you type some content into the subpage (NOT in the title area). Then click
away to a different page, the tab should take on the title of whatever that
first text is.
