sub webs navigation link- main web

I

Isagold

Hi there and thanks Mr Rowe for your previouse help. I have got the sub web
up and running on the internet from previous files within our main web.

I have linked the sub web folder to the main web sites home page. Now when I
preview it in the local internet explorer and click the new sub web it shows
up as all the folders etc within the file and not like a web Page.
A: I can't seem to unlink this sub web folder from the main navigational
view, how do I unlink it?

B: To link this sub web in part of the navigation structure , do I just link
the index page within the new sub web.---- It links to the sub web fine but
comes up looking like this -- MLD/index.htm. not a good navigational look??

Thanks Isagold

The only way to access page(s) in a subweb / subsite is:

MLD/ (this will automatically load the default document - index.htm, etc.)
or
MLD/index.htm
or
http://www.domainname.com/MLD/
or
http://www.domainname.com/MLD/index.htm

See above.

Subwebs / Subsites are completely independent web sites under a FP root web.

In general when working with FP navigation components and subwebs / subsites it is best to use a
Absolute URL between the subweb / subsite. In any case FP will not manage any navigation or filename
changes to pages or file in a subweb / subsite.

You need to make sure that all files and images, etc. used within a subweb / subsite are actually in
the subweb / subsite.

If your site is hosted on a Unix/Linux server, the keep all files as lowercase.
