Subdirectories "run away"

When moving from Inbox to a subdirectory on the left of the screen using the
mouse, most often the directories go up and down quickly and I have to try to
catch the correct subdirectory. Does anyone know why or how this occurs?

Instead of dragging the messages, use Edit>Move to Folder.

Oh, another suggestion is to, after selecting the source messages, use the
Navigation Pane scroll bar to position the folder list so that the
destination folder shows, then drag the selection to it.
